BSHCA 2020 Scholarship Program

This year Berkeley Shores Homeowners' Civic Association offered two (2) $1000.00 scholarships to help students of BSHCA members in good standing and students from Central Regional High School attain their educational goals.

 

The Scholarship recipients are:

#1) Michael DiGeronimo.
Michael is the grandson of Berkeley Shores Member Angelo and Louise Marrella. He will be attending Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University.

#2) Dezirae Gillard.
Dezirae is the granddaughter of Berkeley Shores members Linda & Charles Adamson. She will be attending University of Miami majoring in nursing.

Email we received from the family: “Good evening everyone! Thank you so much for honoring Dezirae with the BSHCA Scholarship. Our family appreciates it so very much and we are very grateful. Dezirae will be attending the University of Miami in August enrolled in their nursing program. This is truly an honor and thank you again.”

Requirements for the 2020 BSHCA Scholarship

Berkeley Shores Homeowners' Civic Association is offering two (2) $1000.00 scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded to a qualifying graduating high school senior of a BSHCA member in good standing (regardless of the high school they attend) and a qualifying graduating senior at Central Regional High School.

We encourage our members’ students to submit an application for consideration by the BSHCA Scholarship Committee.

 

Eligibility criteria:

  • Any graduating senior from Central Regional High School
  • If BSHCA candidate applies (regardless of high school attending), family must be members in good standing. (BSHCA members’ children, grandchildren and step children are eligible.)
  • Candidate must enroll in a two or four-year educational institution.
  • Candidate must complete the application and attach an essay of 350 to 600 words. Essay must be typed and neatly presented. Topic to be addressed: “Recall a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you? What was your personal outcome from this experience? ”

Additional requirements:

Candidates from Central Regional High School must complete and submit the application to their guidance department before April 20, 2020.
SAT scores, transcript, GPA, class ranking, report card, and essay must be included with the application.

Those students of BSHCA members must mail application to the address below by April 20, 2020. Only completed applications will be considered.
